Newsletter 4

English- We are learning about Greek Myths in our new unit.

Math- This week in math we are starting our unit on dividing fractions. We are learning about the parts of a division problem and what each number represents.

Science- We are continuing our continental drift unit this week, and evidence that proves the Continental Drift Theory.

Social Studies- In social studies this week we are doing an Amazon Rain Forest Conference from different perspectives of groups of people in Brazil.

Newsletter 3

Week of Jan. 28th

English- In English this week, we have been doing a memory moment project. First, we did research in the library about a culture we were interested in and what they did when someone passes away. Now, we are writing either a letter, newspaper article, or diary entry with that information.

Math- This week in math, we have our end of unit 3 assessment which is on unit rates and ratios. On Friday we are starting our fourth unit!e

Science- In science this week, we are starting a new unit on geological time and continental drift. 

Social Studies- We are learning about population settlements in social studies this week. We are learning about why people live where they do. Also, we learn what affects where people live like climate,vegetation and precipitation.

Newsletter 2

Week of Jan. 14th


English- This week in english have been finishing up our essays about the theme of Tuck Everlasting. We have started our new projects on what different cultures do when someone passes. We will eventually do a creative writing piece with our information. Also, every Friday we get to read independently for the class period.

      

Math- This week in math we have been expanding our knowledge on ratios. We are doing more complicated unit rate problems, and percentages. Also, we use Assistments and Khan Academy to practice what we learned at home.  




Science- In Science this week, we have been focusing on finding mass, volume, and density. We have learned the formulas for each and have practiced a lot. We have a test Thursday January 17th. 




Social Studies- In social studies this week we are getting our Latin America climate and physical features tests back. Make sure to take a look at them!
